Law Enforcement Information Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 36 hours in Computer Science or Criminal Justice
-OR-
- An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice or Computer Science and two years of full-time experience in law enforcement or processing and dissemination criminal information in a criminal justice agency
-OR-
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and one year full-time experience in law enforcement or processing and disseminating criminal information in a criminal justice agency
- *Substitution of Education for Experience or Experience for Education is allowed
- Must be 21 years of age on date of application
- US Citizen
- Good moral character
- Complete criminal history disclosure
- Fingerprint based criminal history records check
- Have no felony convictions or have discharged from any branch of the armed forces under anything other than honorable

Responsibilities: LEIC positions perform a wide range of duties related to all crime information programs established by the TBI which require input, update and retrieval of information by law enforcement agencies across the state. They provide technical assistance to agencies interfaced on the TIES, TCIS, AFIS, NCIC or NLETS networks. LEICs assist in the development of rules and guidelines pertaining to the use and dissemination of information received from TBI files. Periodic on-site audits are conducted of all agencies interfaced on networks to ensure compliance with regulations.
